This festival celebrates New Bedford's rich sea-going heritage with music, storytelling, tours, and a host of hands-on activities.
The festival takes place at sites throughout the The New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park. The festival sites are open to the public at no charge (admission may be required for certain concerts or museums).
You can watch demontrations of traditional crafts including boat building, sail making, knot work, figurehead carving, scrimshander, and blacksmithing.
The festival is presented by the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
