The New Bedford Preservation Society provides summer guided walking tours featuring New Bedford's historic 19th century neighborhoods. The tours emphasize the Melville era and Victorian architecture. Each tour includes an interior of one home and light refreshments. The tours start at the Union Street side of the Wamsutta Club (427 County Street) in New Bedford.

Proceeds from Preservation Society events benefit projects such as New Bedford Re-Leaf, the Historic Marker Program, and production of the Historic District Walking tour brochures.
