Seth Russell, Sr. House
Union and Front Sts.
New Bedford, MA 02740
The Seth Russell, Sr. house is the oldest building in the New Bedford historic district. It was built in 1765 and is the only remaining building that survived the 1778 British destruction of Bedford village.
The building was moved to its present location in 1978 to make room for expansion of the whaling museum.
The building has been restored and now houses private offices.
