New Bedford's Nautical Mile

This walking tour starts at the Downtown Visitor Center, 33 William St., and provides a journey though New Bedford historic past. The trail winds through the historic district, working waterfront, and the present-day downtown areas.

The tour includes stops at the Seamen's Bethel, Whaling Museum, Waterfront Visitor center, Bourne Counting House, New Bedford Public Library, City Hall, Art Museum, and Custom House. Informational placards along the trail provide historic information and details about strategic points along the way.
